Investing in Education
First PREMIER and PREMIER Bankcard are customer-focused and community-minded. We believe our young people are among the state's greatest treasures and represent one of the best investments we can make. That's why we award up to twenty $2,000 Community Scholarships each year to deserving high school seniors. We also invest in our employees and their families by awarding up to 20 additional $2,000 scholarships to qualifying dependents of PREMIER associates.
Applications for both the Community and Employee Dependent scholarships for the 2026-2027 academic year are now open.
Applications are due no later than 11:59 p.m. (Central Time) on Friday, March 13, 2026.

Community Scholarship Eligibility
- Parent or student must have a deposit account (checking or savings) with First PREMIER Bank. Not applicable for Huron High School or Dakota Valley High School.
- Student must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Student must be a high school senior planning to attend an accredited South Dakota college, university, technical school, junior college or community college.
- Must be planning to attend the fall semester of the current school year.
Employee Dependent Eligibility
- Student must have a parent or guardian that is actively employed with First PREMIER Bank or PREMIER Bankcard.
- Parent or student must have a deposit account (checking or savings) with First PREMIER Bank.
- Student must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must be planning to attend the fall semester of the current school year.
Congratulations Scholarship Winners
In 2025, First PREMIER Bank and PREMIER Bankcard awarded 36 $2,000 Community and Employee Scholarships. A complete list of the 2025 recipients can be found here.
Not a First PREMIER Bank Customer?
To be eligible for our scholarships, you or your parent(s) must have a deposit (checking or savings) account with First PREMIER Bank. You can open one online in about four minutes or at any First PREMIER Bank location.
